Dr Alun Evans

Consultant Dermatologist

Dr Evans qualified as a doctor in London in 1994 and undertook his speciality training at the Institute of Dermatology at St Thomas’ Hospital, London.

Following his speciality training, he also completed a clinical fellowship in Dermatological Surgery and Lasers at the Institute of Dermatology.

He has been trained in London and the United States in the use of Botox and Sclerotherapy. Experienced in all aspects of dermatology, with special interests in skin cancer and cutaneous surgery.

Experienced in all aspects of dermatology, Dr Evans offers cosmetic laser treatments such as tattoo removal, thread vein treatment and hair removal.

He returned to Wales in 2004 to take up a consultant post at the Princess of Wales and Neath Port Talbot Hospitals. He now heads the Dermatology Laser Service at the Princess of Wales Hospital which receives referrals from across South Wales and the West Country.

Dr Colin Long

MB MS, MRCP
Consultant Dermatologist

Dr Long is a Consultant Dermatologist at Cardiff & the Vale NHS Trust and also works at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. He is interested in all aspects of Dermatology including the management of inflammatory skin disorders (rashes) such as eczema, psoriasis, urticaria and acne as well as the surgical treatment of benign and malignant skin tumours. 

Dr Long currently holds the following positions:

Consultant Dermatologist: Cardiff & the Vale NHS Trust, Cwm Taf NHS Trust, Lecturer in Dermatology, Cardiff University, Clinical Lead in Audit, Directorate of Dermatology Cardiff & the Vale NHS Trust

Qualifications and memberships:

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, Member of the British Association of Dermatologists, Registered with the General Medical Council as a Specialist in Dermatology.
